Travel service

1st January 2024 –  Please be advised that we are currently not able to offer Yellow Fever vaccinations. The rest of our travel service is now running as usual. Please give our Practice Nurse 6 to 8 weeks notice so we can fit your vaccines in before you travel.

Keep yourself and your family safe whilst travelling

Yetminster Health Centre is proud to provide a comprehensive travel clinic at the practice. Please complete a Travel Health Form (copies are available from the surgery or to download here – Travel risk assessment form ), at least eight weeks before departure.

Find out more by downloading our travel appointment information sheet.

We see many people who are planning foreign holidays to destinations outside of Europe. Countries outside of Europe often have higher incidences of diseases such as Hepatitis, rabies and malaria, which travellers may be exposed to in varying degrees. It is therefore important that your risk of contracting these is assessed and minimised before and during your visit. Some of the vaccines advised may require a course of doses given over several weeks. Therefore, we recommend that you complete a Travel Risk Assessment Form in advance of your travel. Please note that we may not be able to vaccinate individuals planning a last minute trip as we may not have an available appointment.

So what can I do?

Complete a Travel Health Assessment Form and discuss your travel plans with the practice nurses who will be able to advise you what vaccines may be required for your travel and whether or not they are available in the surgery. They may signpost you to some local private Travel Clinics such as MASTA and CityDoc Dorchester (there may be others).

MASTA Travel Clinic – Day Lewis Pharmacy

CityDoc Dorchester – Telephone 0203 131 0965

We also recommend that you check www.fitfortravel.nhs.uk or www.nathnac.org to determine possible health risks in your destination and how you can maintain your health while you travel. The practice nurses are available to discuss your needs further as required.
